Pecan Grove Baptist’s view on missions…PGBC’s efforts in the area of missions is structured so that we effectively proclaim the excellencies of Jesus Christ to all people locally, nationally, and internationally making authentic disciples at all costs. Authentic disciples are daily missionaries. We work hard to help our people understand this and train them to succeed. Then we send them out locally, nationally, and internationally to reach the people the Lord has for us.MAY ALL THE NATIONS COME TO KNOW JESUS!Local work we do…Locally our missions efforts are led by our Bible Study classes. Each class has a mission field in which they go out at least quarterly to serve. These classes participate in serving and discipling such places and organizations as Texas Interfaith, Pregnancy Resource Center, Hearts & Hammers, Angel Tree, Jester II prison, Richmond Healthcare Center, Fort Bend Healthcare, and Cambridge Square. In addition to assisting in many private areas of need, we also contribute to other organizations locally such as Helping Hands, and the San Felipe Baptist Association.National work we do…Nationally our efforts include work with organizations such as the South Texas Children’s Home, The Way of the Cross Ministries, as well as our general combined efforts with the Southern Baptist Convention.International work we do…Internationally we seek Jesus in Jinotega, Nicaragua and send a group of our missionaries there 3 to 4 times per year to check up on and strengthen our sponsored church, Hebron Baptist Church. Through our partnership with Pastor Oscar Perez we are attempting, as the Lord leads, to see Hebron Baptist running at full strength and then continue planting churches in the surrounding areas as they have need. Our work there includes but is not limited to VBS, pastoral training, leadership training, fellowship building, evangelism, ministry organization, Bible studies, marriage seminars, building projects, community relations, and community outreach. We also support our own Sam George, who is a missionary to Tenkasi, India where he leads Emmanuel Ministries which consists of a Bible based church, Bible college, orphanage, and a public high school. Please pray for Sam and the persecution he endures daily. At Christmas time we also like to partner with The Way of the Cross Ministries and their work in Mexico at the Big Feed. The Big Feed is a day-long event in the poorest of poor communities along the South Texas-Mexico border. Two days of preparation go into a single day of food, games, and a heavy dose of the gospel and personal testimonies. Thousands come to know the Lord every year.
